The hugely talented Joanne Robey! Each piece begins as a simple lump of clay and becomes a lifelike, expressive animal through Joanne’s incredible artistry and imagination.

Her mother, Anne Robey, has been crafting small ceramic animals — robins, seals, sheep, goats, pigs, and more — for over 40 years, delighting generations of visitors to our shop. You can still find Anne’s much-loved ceramic animals both in our shop and here on our website, continuing a cherished tradition of Irish craftsmanship.

Now, Joanne takes up that mantle in her own extraordinary way. Entirely self-taught, she transforms clay into captivating ceramic sculptures that brim with personality and charm. Each piece is hand-sculpted, glazed, and fired individually, ensuring no two are ever the same.

Her work is deeply loved and highly sought after, and we’re proud to have her creations at The Craft Shop. Each sculpture celebrates Irish artistry, natural expression, and enduring craftsmanship — beautiful keepsakes that bring warmth and joy to any home.
